Soup on Second Sundays The first soup gathering was so tasty the group decided to make this a regular lunch meeting. So bring some soup, or bread, or just an appetite and join us for lunch after the service on the second Sunday of the month. We will be changing to the first Sunday of the month starting in February. Community Activities Two items from Dawna Lisa The first is a visit from William Atteridge, photographer and safety coordinator for Australia & Africa. He will be visiting my classes this Tuesday to talk about "The difficulties of living and business in Africa", including how they try to educate people about AIDS/HIV, a big killer in Africa. Mr. Atteridge is a brilliant photographer and will have lots of pictures to share. He speaks at 8:30 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23rd, in the Literacy Center (Room 2110) in the Lovinger Building on the UCM campus. Please let me know if you will join us, as my students and I are hosting refreshments and making sure everyone has a seat. The University of Central Missouri will host "Show Me Your Issue," the American Democracy Project Campus Conference and Film Festival, Thursday, Jan. 25, in the Elliott Union. Films Cover Variety of Topics The festival will feature screenings and discussions of films from the award-winning PBS independent, non-fiction film series, "Point of View." The films will cover a variety of topics, including religion, disability, war, the minimum wage, public education and health. There's more information at: http://www.cmsu.edu/x96271.xml
